Sheep / Lambs

A Merino dominated sale today across all the agents. Prices mostly firm on last week. We saw a lift on $10 – $15 in the mutton market. Lots of demand for late season store lambs. There was a spattering of sucker lambs throughout today’s market with the best selling to $155 down to $60 for very light sucker store lambs.

Sheep / Lambs

Very difficult to quote with such low numbers in our lamb market. Heavy Merino lambs were in strong demand along with hoggets. Mutton saw a big slide on last week losing $20 – $30 whereas Boner ewes held firm.

CIAA yarded 900 lambs and 250 sheep. Better competition from local butchers. Saw our Trade and Heavy Trade lambs firm on last week. Plenty of competition on late drop. Store lambs to go on feed. Heavy Mutton was stronger on last week and still excellent competition on Hoggets.

Sheep / Lambs

Good lambs remained in demand with good competition. Light and store lambs took a little to warm up but remained firm on last week. The od sale here and there was a little cheaper. Good heavy hoggets saw a strong lift selling up to $186/hd. Mutton on the other hand was $10 to $20 cheaper than last week to match the Easten States.
* Please mouth older lambs, there was a big line of 200 that needed to be mouthed after the sale today, the cost is $4/hd to do so. It costs the client money and slows down the sale. Please check older lambs before sending them in! *
