In 1992 the concept of an amalgamation of independent livestock agents began to take root. CIAA (Combined independent agents assossciation) was the outcome.

Now over two decades later CIAA remains an integral component of the South Australian livestock industry. Whilst CIAA has had many members over its history both new and original members continue to operate under the CIAA banner providing access to independent livestock agents to both producers and buyers.

CIAA continues to operate under many of the guiding principles it was founded on, whilst the purchase of CIAA by Platinum Livestock ( a large independent agent and member of CIAA), in 2016, has provided ongoing scale to the business. This created a new beginning of sort for CIAA and saw an expansion of saleyard operations with the Crystal Brook saleyards now a part of the portfolio. As promised during the sale process, nothing has fundamentally changed to the CIAA operation.
